Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from therapy at Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance?
Therapy is a collaborative process designed around your goals, experiences, and needs. We work to understand what brought you here, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools to help you move forward.
Our approach is evidence-based, direct, and individualized. We believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are while still being challenged toward meaningful growth.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. We offer a brief consultation to help determine whether our services are a good fit for your needs. This is an opportunity to discuss what you’re looking for, ask questions, and learn what working together may look like.
A consultation does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
What issues do you help with?
Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance works with adults, young adults, elderly adults, and minors experiencing a variety of concerns, including:
- Anxiety and stress
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma and PTSD
- Military and veteran-related concerns
- Grief and loss
- Complex Medical Issues
- Addiction/Substance Use
- Life transitions
- Relationship challenges
- Men’s mental health
- Sleep difficulties
- Coping with major changes or challenges
- Suicidality
If you are unsure whether therapy is the right fit, reach out. We are happy to discuss your situation.
Do you work with veterans and military members?
Yes. Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance is combat veteran-owned and has specialized experience working with military members, veterans, and their families.
We understand that military experiences, transitions, identity changes, and trauma can create unique challenges. Therapy is tailored to your experiences rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all approach.
What therapy approaches do you use?
Treatment is individualized based on your goals and needs. Approaches may include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
- Prolonged Exposure (PE)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
- Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS)
- Narrative Therapy
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We provide secure telehealth services for clients located in the states where our clinicians are licensed.
During a telehealth session, you will need a private location, a reliable internet connection, and a device capable of video communication.
What states do you provide services in?
Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance currently provides telehealth services to individuals located in:
- Tennessee (Primarily)
- New Mexico
- North Carolina
- South Carolina

Availability depends on clinician licensure and scheduling.
Do you accept insurance?
We work with several insurance and referral platforms. Availability varies depending on your location, provider, and insurance plan.
We also offer self-pay options and limited sliding-scale availability.
Contact us to discuss your specific situation and options.
How much does therapy cost?
Our standard session rate is $125 per session for private pay. Sliding-scale options may be available based on financial circumstances and availability.
During your consultation, we can discuss fees and payment options.
How long are therapy sessions?
Most individual therapy sessions are approximately 50–60 minutes.
The length and frequency of therapy depends on your goals, needs, and treatment plan.
How often should I attend therapy?
Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish progress. Some clients transition to less frequent appointments as they gain skills and meet their goals.
Your therapist will work with you to determine a schedule that fits your needs.
Do you provide emergency or crisis services?
Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance is not a crisis service and does not provide emergency response.
If you are experiencing an emergency or feel unable to keep yourself safe, call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
Will therapy make me talk about things I don’t want to discuss?
Therapy is collaborative. You are not required to share anything before you are ready.
A good therapist will help you explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels appropriate while still supporting meaningful progress.
How do I get started?
The first step is scheduling a consultation. During that conversation, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, answer questions, and determine whether Bonafide Therapeutic Alliance is the right fit. Please use the contact form above or the consultation booking link button.
